Studying fulltime is challenging. However, going to school while doing other responsibilities, like family and work, is even worse. The good news is, mobile apps are always available to help an online college student become productive.
Apps for note-taking
There are many note-taking apps that you can download online, and one of them is Evernote. According to SocialKNX founder, Gina Schreck, Evernote is an app that online students shouldn’t live without. It is used to take, organize, and share notes with group members. It tracks due dates too.
Evernote is a free program that’s available for Android and iOS users. Some other examples of the note-taking app are OneNote and Notability. OneNote is a free app, but Notability isn’t.
Apps for learning management system
New England College of Business and Finance eLearning professor and director, Jean Marrapodi, said that learning management systems are now available as apps. So, students already have the option to do their schoolwork on their phones. They can participate in discussion boards, submit assignments, and even track due dates using it. Some examples of this are Moodle, Canvas, and Blackboard, which are free for Android and iOS users.
Apps for news aggregation
According to Schrek and Marrapodi, an excellent way to stay on top of your studies is by using Flipboard. This is a free social magazine app that’s available for Android and iOS. This is used for searching for photos, videos, and articles. Flipboard can also be used to create and share digital magazines.
Apps for project management
For project management, Marrapodi recommends using Smartsheet. Using this, students can create a list of tasks, set deadlines, and share them with their team members. Another one that Marrapodi suggests is Tom’s Planner. This is Gantt chart-based app that makes use of color-coded charts, which show the amount of work that’s been completed. Some other examples of free online planning tools are Trello and Wunderlist.
